Edward A "Ed" Brock was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1918. He was signed by the St Louis Cardinals late in 1939 and played for three different teams in 1940. He was with the Albany Cardinals of Georgia-Florida League, the Duluth Dukes of the Northern League and the Fostoria Red Birds of the Ohio State League where he batted .295 with 37 RBIs. He was back with Duluth in 1941.

 

Brock left organized baseball in 1942 and played semi-pro in Detroit. During that time he was assigned to Decatur of the Three-I League and then Lynchburg of the Piedmont League but did not join either.

 

Machinist's Mate Third Class Brock was killed in action while serving with the US Navy in the Pacific on February 26, 1945. He is buried at the Honolulu Memorial in Hawaii.
