Weatherby joined the Royal
Canadian Air Force at the outbreak of the war and served as a Warrant Officer
with 78 Squadron (RAF) at RAF Breighton in Yorkshire, England.
On April 11,
1944, Charles Weatherby was killed when his Handley Page Halifax III was shot
down over Pierrecourt, France.
